...the code says it is a  340 RT....but obviously never was a 6Pak.....I like the line where it says it was properly "RESTORED" as a 440 6 Pak....restoring means making the car as new, not different...hope someone didn't get dinged for the full $80K....

never saw a D24 though

Not a original six pack car that is for sure. People need to have more knowlege before selling a car like this as it is very misleading.

Barry, is this car for real? 340 R/T!?!? Surely this fender tag is a fake? As far as I'm aware nothing below a 383 was an R/T. You could order a car to R/T specs but with a 340 but not a 340 R/T.  ???

NZ this is a real 340 RT as the 340 engine was avalible in 71 as a option. It was not avalible in 1970. My 71 Challenger RT is a 340 car and has the original fender tag and build sheet to match. VIN starts out JS which indicates the RT model.

I thought it looked a little funny with the D24 code.

That tag is completely bogus.

What are the major problems you see? I always have to look the dang codes up.  :clueless:

Thanks, I knew the JS is the special code but thought that perhaps this tag was "made up".
Which Barry seems to think it is. However, I didn't realise that 71 R/T's could come with 340s.

There has to be more than that, Barry knows that 340's came in 71 models just not 70 (which I have  :banghead: )

The big discussion came months ago, "was there a 70' 340". Which I hope we don't rehash. The 340 in 70 pretty much looked like a R/T but wasn't. Some books say that assemblers at the factory got confused and badged some 340's with R/T logos, and others swear that someone they knew had a 340 R/T.

It's a viscous triange  :icon16:
