...I have always been "space impaired" during my car collecting years until recently...In October, I purchased a new garage/storage facility for my cars....it was an old nursing home and had been for sale for about 5 years....16,000 sq ft total, but 12,000 sq ft of it had already been gutted and garage doors installed (why, I'll never know)...I have used some of the remaining rooms on the north end of the building for a large apartment and we put in a beauty shop...plenty of hi-tech security systems and I still have about 2,500 sq ft of offices and storage rooms in the north end to use for myself...the south end is the part that is gutted...should hold about 38-40 cars if they are packed in tight...right now I only have about 20 to put in there, but room for growth

...I still don't have all my cars in the building (I still have one last Viper with a dead battery at home,  I just got it  started a few days ago, then it rained)...also another Viper delivered since the pictures were taken.....the building is still undergoing cleaning and painting and minor repairs, but it is nearly finished...not exactly a beauty queen, but plenty of dry secure storage for years to come and everything from the roof to the heating systems is new......there is still a cafateria and a fully operational institutional kitchen in the building....not exactly sure what to do with a kitchen that big...my wife won't cook in the one we have at home...

I didn't even have that much all my life until a couple of years ago. Then I had a garage built that would take the car.

Of course it does not lool like this now. The car is totally stripped and full of tools and such like. Not much room at all in there until the car gets back together.

Nice Garages! I'm jealous! I'm building my car in a 1 1/2 long single car garage. Here's what I had to do to get the engine to the back of the garage  :violin:

I know what you mean. When we poured our shop floor it was right after Katrina and there was a ration of concrete here. Five plants couldn't provide it. I don't know how my guy ended up getting it but he most likley cashed in some sort of favor  :dunno:

Mine was 24x30 then added 16' bay afew years back. This past year I raised the ceiling height in the middle bay to 13' so I could install a lift. Now filling the walls with signs and such. Always something to do in the shop.

You guys have some beautiful garages and cars to put in them.I am embarrased by what I got (not really)it's mine and when you don't have one for years, anything is better than no garage.

Here's mine a little messy but it's heated, TV, Phone, and the all important bathroom with slop sink to wash up!

The biggest PITA is that it's attached to the house and the better half can get me easy, that and the smells from paint/cleaners etc.

well I'm a little jealous, a lot of nice garage/shops there, I run a small a/c business out of my garage, it's basically 1 1/2 car wide & maybe 6 feet deeper than most, will someday be converted back to cars if I can ever retire, will be fine for my needs, for now I use it to prep everything than haul it out to my open air "shop" , actually being outside I find much nicer most of the time, the dust & fumes inside can get pretty dense!  ;) Rich.
