Wow, thought it would have went for higher then that. Then again I can not believe that 74 mile hemi cuda only brought 500K...maybe I will be able to buy a cuda again someday.

I've got to say the Barrett Jackson experience was a bad one.If Barrett Jackson promises you a time, get it in writing.I told the hundreds of people that looked at the car that it would go off around 12:30,which is what they promised me before I consigned it,they rushed the car thru at 11:20 bypassing the picture tent,it was like a blurr. After standing there with my mouth open for about a half an hour, some of the people that that said they were biddding on the car started to role in.They were almost as mad as I was,the guy that bought the car offered me 10,000 more then he ended up paying for it the day before it left for Scottsdale.I'm still walking a little funny

Man, Im sorry to hear it. It's a gorgous car and I wish thing would have went better for you. Its a real wake up to the Barrett Jackson experince. We all sit in aw of the big dollar cars but some guys (sellers) sometimes get hosed. I kinda makes ebay look not as bad at least you have a reserve.

... I saw your CUDA there (I looked at it several times).....it was a very, very nice car...well done....made me sick I didn't have a bidders pass....the car was legally stolen....I have seen stripped out rust buckets sell for close that amount...I personally know several E-Body owners that are not very happy with their selling experience for timing reasons

57hemicuda, sorry to hear that.  My buddy, who sold a Mach I there said your car was the one he's still kicking himself for not bidding on.  I don't know if it's because it went so cheap or not but I would imagine.
I'm sure Mr. Jackson was answering a lot of calls Monday morning.

:canada:I stopped watching BJ after they did the same to a fellow here in Salmon Am BC Canada. Told him yeah, yeah, yeah we will be putting it on the TV line. Got there and after all the crying was over he should have taken the local offer made to him. I hope someone in New Zealand steals their line " the greatest carshow in the world........... something like that and they try to sue them and spend millions doing it. Problem is New Zealand doesn't give a rat's arse about copyright and stuff like dumb sayings.

See how mad I am. Sorry to hear about the dilemma 57 but all the CCC listers should take note. BJ doesn't give a damn about you unless you have a super duper special car.

I'm not trying to criticize, but why didn't you have a reserve price?

I have heard tales of buyers buying thier own cars at B/J (shill-bidders), just so they didn't take a loss. I didn't understand why THEY didn't have reserve prices either. Of course, they did still have to pay all of B/J's fees which I understand are MORE than 10%.

I'm pretty sure BJ is a no reserve auction...so he probably never had a choice.  :dunno:
