Favorite E-Body Color
« on: January 11, 2007 - 07:05:38 AM »
Ladies and Gentlemen:  I am  franticly searching for a paint scheme for my 73 Challenger.  Although this car did not come from the factory in burnt orange, I like it.  Please tell me about your favorite colors.  Hopefully you can help me decide.  My painter will start next week.

Sounds to me like your minds already set my friend. Go with your heart, don't let us throw names at you.
Besides, the most popular colours (Plum Crazy, Sublime etc) are becoming pretty common.

They all look like Hemi Orange to me. Accept maybe the bottom one?

The problem with REAL hemi orange is that it looks completely different depending on lighting conditions. It looks almost orange on direct sunlight, VERY orange taken with a flash at close range, and just a plain red in overcast conditions.

Problem is 72-4 Challengers don't look the same in any given color as other years or models. I have a'73 & maybe I'm over critcal  :blah:  but most of the more popular Mopar colors just don't work for me on the Frowning Challey. I'm lookin to go with a non original dark silver/gunmetal. :smokin:

Black. 72-74s look awsome in black. Stick some black T/A style side stripes on there too. Chrome wheels to finish it off. :droolingbounce:

I agree.  Why ask if you know what you want already?

Another thing I want to add is that its sad that someone with an actual EV2 car (me) is excited that its original color, but disappointing to see everyone want EV2, FC7, etc.  I probably would want it too if I didnt have this color.  Oh well, its hard to explain.

BTW, I love burnt orange, if you want someone to tell you to go with that  :swaying:

I think all the colors look good on the E Bodys. In the end it's up to you but I'm parshall to Sublime. I have often wished my T/A was that color. :2cents:
