1970 Barracuda hood
« on: January 11, 2007 - 09:15:49 AM »
Ok about 2 weeks ago I told everyone on the board that I traded a 1970 Flat Barracuda hood for a 1998 Firebird with transmission problems.

http://www.cuda-challenger.com/cc/index.php?topic=15922.msg283746#msg283746

I just want everyone to know that the deal didn't work out as the title on the Pontiac needed the lean release and the guys wife was against the deal because the bird was her car.
I did end up selling the hood to a different guy for $550 though and we both walked away very happy

 :grinyes:

HOWEVER

I got a call from the folks with the Firebird yesterday and the lady over there bought a new toyota to drive and offered me the pontiac for the same price they would have got for the trade in.

$450.00

So in a way I traded the hood for a car and got $100 back in change  :naughty:
I did drive it home but the tranny does need to be rebuilt
The title is clear now and they even left it open in case I want to flip it   :grinyes:

Wish we could do that here in PA, but it's illegal.

My guess is it's frowned upon down here it Arizona too but also here you can't sell more then 4 cars in a 12 month period so as a rule you have to keep as many titles open name as possible. Especially when you consider how many cars I buy for just parts and then turn over to my auto salvage buddy
It's not like I'm gonna drive it around on their registration though. I think I'm gonna do up that tranny and then decide weather to keep it or sell it at extreme profit.
The whole thing might be out of my hands anyway, my wife really seems to like that car,  she used to drive a Trans AM...

I liked those cars a lot when they came out with that design.  That was, of course, before I was a Mopar girl, LOL.  Not a bad deal 360!
