I cannot imagine what this family is going through. For you that have children; educate, educate. The things you teach your children must become instinct. My daughter is almost 9. I won't go into it but we had a couple of close calls with her. Since that time she has been educated. She knows how to get away from someone if necessary. She knows how to defend herself. We go over it frequently as play wrestling. We play a game in parking lots. As we are heading to the car I have her tell me what is going on in the parking lot. She can only look at the car we are going to while she does it. It teaches her to be aware of her surroundings. Sometimes when she says there is a guy in a blue shirt over there. I'll say if he comes this way we do what? I have gone over the answers time and time again with her. If something goes wrong she may not have time to think; just time to react. I'll at times say catch and lightly toss something her way to build reactions. It may seem crazy but it has actually saved my daughter. How much is a child worth? My heart just goes out to these people.
