« on: September 10, 2003 - 10:44:40 PM »
This is what a place here is charges for the system. has anyone used this system before. how much work is it to put in a non a/c car with this system and an a/c dash pad, is that all I will need.

complete Kit is $1095 includes brackets, compressor, condensor, Standard, Drier pre-formed Aluminum Lines and mounting hardware. The Ducts, Vents, and controls are all included in the Kit. With all the correct Brackets, hoses vents and controls,

??? I haven't seen the system, but I believe they use their own duct work and vents that mount below the dash. You don't need an A.C. dashpad. I'd love to know how good this system is because I'd like to get A.C. back in my car someday.

Actually they use one small duct, about 2x3 down below the heater contols, the other vents where cut into the dash, about 2x4. The complete system goes where the heater box is, then a plate bolts on the firewall where the fan motor goes . Hoses of course go through the plate, looks good. Everything was included, brackets, belts, ect..........

Next time I see the guy I'll get pics, I hope he's at the shows this weekend.

I'ld like to know if you can use the factory heater box, evaporator & vents with the balance of the kit.  If yes,  any price break for just the under hood pieces?  Also, if there are several of us, how about a group discount? ;D ;D ;D

From what I remember from one of their catalogs, you can get the kit with the under dash ducts or use the existing ones if you car is so equipped. I was thinking about using this system on my 73 when it gets out of the shop, but I think I am just going to use the sanden compressor and leave everything else looking stock. They do also have a kit that just replaces hoses to and from compressor.

It looks good :) :)  Thanks for the pictures
How difficult was the installation on his car ?

Has anyone ever seen a braket to mount the compressor underneith the alternator, or will it even fit ?

So if you remove the heater box, is there a heater in there to, something like the mohave ?

Bart:

Thank you for the excellent pictures and other info.  But personally, I would choose a different analogy than "cold as hell" to describe an air conditioner's performance (just busting your chops!).  Thanks again for the pictures and information.
