66 Barracuda photochop...whatcha think
« on: January 16, 2007 - 08:20:41 PM »
I had a guy on a different forum chop the first photo to see what my 66 could look like with 20's and bags (the photo is not of my car).  What do you think?

I too agree with needing sidewall. While the 30, 20, 10 and 0.0005 series tires may look good on a new vehicle, a vintage car need the tires of the period to look good. Not a fan of wagon wheels on vintage tin.

Wow, I expected to find atleast a couple of non-purists.  Thanks for the thoughts anyway.  The tires are a little small in the pic, but I'm more into the pro-touring style builds, and big meats and tall ride height just won't fit the bill.  I do have a respect for the old school 15's and common "muscle car" look but I guess I've just seen too much of it.  If I had a big block matching #'s e-body I'd keep it stock, but I believe the "vintage tin" could use a little technology.  Anyway, thanks for the replies and I hope you can still respect my style as I do yours.

Yeah, I figured they had to be, it just didn't look right with ONLY Conestoga wagon sized wheels... ::)

 :iagree: Hey, that's me!

Yeah it does kinda look like it, but then again... it is the same car, just different body styles.  I do like your car, but it's too lowrider-esque for my tastes.

I'd suggest bigger profile tires! All in all though I like the direction you're going. Maybe shave off the antenna too, and possibly do something with the front bumper/grill?

Yea, the antenna will be shaved, as will all emblems and other unnecessary stuff.  It's funny that you mention the grille and bumper... I'm thinking of fabbing a '71 Cuda inspired grill from fiberglass.  Any other suggestions?

I am considering taking 2 1/2" out of the windshield posts to level the roof. ;D
