Help! Need hood pin bracket bolts
« on: January 20, 2007 - 10:03:22 AM »
Don't know how I did it (except I seem to do it a lot) but I lost one of the bolts that mount the hood pin bracket to the body for my '70 Cuda. I got a set from R/T but they are the wrong size. Anyone have an extra? They may be the same ones as the fender top bolts but I don't have access to the car at the moment to check...

Pull one of them when you can, get me a length, thread size and let me know what the symbol on the head of it is and I can check my bolt stash for you.

Thanks for the reply Barry! Do you manage the Hamtramck Registry? I just filed my info with you a while back.

The bolt is a 5/16-18 thread, is 1 1/4 inches long including the head and has a washer that is about 7/8". The head has only 3 faint hash marks at the 12, 3 and 9 o'clock positions and three concentric circles. Here is a photo of the head.

Yep, that sure sounds like me.

I have one of the bolts, how about $2.00 just for a padded mailer and postage? Or will trade for a used license plate.

PM me with your address and I will mail it in the morning.

T/Ake care,
Barry
