I worked on my cuda again today. I did not remove the old shifter that was in it, so when I crawled under it, I had nothing to go by. A bare transmission was where I started. So, I started the installation with the mounting plate that Brewer's Performance sells, then the shifter. After doing this, I put in the reverse linkage, and then I tried to figure out how the rest of the linkage goes, and how it attaches to the shifter and the gear selector plates for the transmission. I have a few pictures of how I think that it went. I have the reverse rod closest to the transmission, then the 1-2 rod, then the 3-4 rod. I'm guessing the 1-2 rod is the longer one and the 3-4 rod is the shorter one.
I have the straight gear selector plate on the front of the transmission, and the bent one is in the middle with the bend facing the trans tunnel. My the adjustment nuts on the linkage were too big for the gear selector plates that Brewer's gave me. I was lucky that I found a machine shop that was open that enlarged the holes for me. I tried drilling them out with two different bits but the steel was so hard it burnt the bits up. If anyone has up close detailed pictures of their car's shift linkage, please post them up. I have ran out of time when I was working on it and couldn't get the clips in the 1-2 and 3-4 rods where they attach to the transmission, so I wasn't able to test it out.
