talking about prices...

I was cheking on my D&P RED BOOK learning moere about other mopars and unterstanding all this "coronet/super bee/belvedere/gtx/road runner/superbird" names for just two cars with different trims... (thank god theese days trims are named with initials and numbers)....

The truth of the matter is that I started noticing about how close the prices were those days between the full size (coronet), the mid-size? (charger) and the small/pony (challenger)... price gap between one and other was very close, i.e. '70 charger r/t was $3.711, coronet r/t was $3.569 and challenger r/t was $3.266. 

I ask why the charger being smaller (Am i right?) was a little bit more expensive than the coronet? and also noticed that chargers up until 1970 didn't have their plymouth homologue... it was a class of its own..

Since 1969 is the year I was born, can any of you older (meaning wiser) fellas elaborate a little bit more on this matter?...

The charger was a higher trim level than the coronet (as far as I can tell).
The charger was to the coronet what the GTX was to the Satellite (although there are obvious exceptions, like sport satellite and coronet R/T)

Also, I think challenger was mid size, and a-bodies were the small ones (coronets and chargers were full size, with monacos, polaras etc. Uber-size)
