340 questions...
« on: January 22, 2007 - 07:28:37 AM »
What intake manifold would you recomend? I have a 4 speed, 340 bored 30 over,cam,headers,...   has an RPM on it for along time. The waterneck bolts have been broken off more than once I see.I've fixed them, but was interested in mayby something different but not sure what it will do to the motor. It's a street car, driven often.I can't get it to the dyno because of weather but have been told 360+ h.p. @ the fly. I've been thinkn of the Victor series- Victor 340,super victor. Mayby an air-gap RPM?  It has a Carter carb,Power brakes,J heads.I just put TTI's headers,x system on.New 1" torsion bars. I'm collecting stuff for braking upgrades too.     :feedback:  What else could I do to help this 340 out?

airgap is a good intake, about the same as what you got though really. post your cam and gears too.  :2cents:

The waterneck bolts have been broken off more than once I see.

I usually use studs for the waterneck. It's always worked well for me.

the Air Gap is a good intake & will work with most combinations because of its design But it is a tall intake as well & could cause hood clearance issuses

Airgap is the exact same height as his current performer RPM.

No specs....     I just thought about it as I see alot of the air gaps now.Any real difference?   If it ain't broken don't fix it I guess...     Put the coin where it needs it more.

You will see minimal, if any gains changing a performer rpm to a airgap. It is the same intake as the performer rpm, just the open/no exh cross-over is the difference. :2cents:
