front bumper brackets

Restoring my 70 challenger and the bumper bracket has a tube welded in the middle is that original or has someone welded that for extra suport.

Looks to me that you have some extra metal there.  I also have  a 70 R/T S/E.  Nothing except the brackets when I took mine off.

This auction shows the two bumper brackets and the ORIGINAL center piece. This is for a Cuda and I am not sure of Challengers, I hadnt heard of even Cudas having them, but it would not surprise me to know that Challengers had come with them as well....
