I think you guys need to hold off on judgement until you have seen it in person.

Seen in at SEMA 2005 and it was the most amazing piece of rolling art I have EVER seen! :2thumbs:

$500k is a steal for the Van Gogh or Monet or Picasso of musclecars.  A ONE of ONE demonstration of creativity and engineering at its finest.

Ragtop, if you want to relate the G-force 'cuda to a form of art I would definitely classify it as a cubists’ spin on expressionism, and, yes, cubism has been, and is, used in automobile design in cars with success.
You referenced van Gogh, the 'cuda would maybe pass as late van Gogh, earlier works of his were mostly impressionist drawings and paintings that were likened to real life. His last six years or so, as he was going absolutely bonkers, he put out expressionist works such as The Starry Night. Like the famous Scream by Edvard Munch, these paintings are amazing. Google "Scream, Munch” and tell me Coke bottle Chargers don't look like they were influenced indirectly by that art form.
Muscle cars, IMO, do not accept a cubist spin. The late sixties and seventies popular culture influenced the design of our cars and nailed it for the most part.

What I am trying to say, Ragtop, would you let Baroque or Picasso take an original van Gogh expressionist painting and sketch it up and re-do it? I hope not.
We all know that these wildly custom car builders probably pay no attention to art, but indirectly styles and preferences have been passed down and some people like to accentuate lines while others like flares, curves, and bubbles.
Either way, whatever artist you liken the G-force 'cuda to, most people don't like it. I have seen probably every picture of it posted on the internet and read all about it. The technology is amazing. I don't think it was worth spending near a million dollars on it and I don't think the original design of Plymouth's 'cuda was improved upon.

Like I said, you gotta see it to believe it.

Hemi e-body 'verts are like four-door a-bodies in comparison, even though they're commanding $2-5M.

yes it is..for all the uninformed opinionated geeks on this site that spend hours upon hours on chat rooms spouting their jealous rantings...I don't think your opinion counts for anything.  For everyones information, the new owner paid $588,500.00 for the Cuda.  He would have gone to $1,500,000.00 for it. Unfortunately Hemi E bodies and Big Block Mid Year Vettes were all in the tank and the other buyers that would have bid big on the Cuda were licking their respective wounds, so there was no one to push him.  Moparal..if you want me to take you seriously, don't tell me you're having to discuss this with your daddy.  If you would take a little time and review the build pix of the Cuda, I think maybe even you could understand why it is stable at speeds greater than 200mph.  70B@rracuda..the ugly car you refer to won the Street Machine of the Year, Chip Foose Pick, Boyd's Pick, Shades of the Past Car of the Year, Chrysler Design Award @ SEMA just to name a few.  The people you refer to (that don't like the Cuda)  post and peruse these sites constantly are the jealous types that drive Escorts and knock what others have done.  For you to say you're glad I lost my azz, what kind of statement is that.  You don't know me. You need to look at the Cuda in person and then voice your opinion.   Black Cuda..I didn't build the Cuda for an investment...if you had half a brain, you'd not speak about something you don't know about.  Old School who drives a green 60's Barracuda with a cheesy hemi scoop, out of style wheels, and what looks like a pro stock rear..Am I supposed to take advice and criticism from you...get real...

...everyone has different tastes...I saw the G-Force at B-Jackson last week....it is an impressive piece of work to say the least....personally, I would rather have purchased the "Ramchargers" 70 HEMICUDA and  the white 9K mile HEMICUDA survivor and still had $50K in my pocket....but, thats just my taste....

...prices were down this year on many cars and up on some...just gotta find the right buyers to make it work...

...gotta go check my Escort, I think I left my lights on :roflsmiley:

It's a discussion with friends, did you join just to make loud comments or make friends and have constructive talk?  So my 80 yr old dad showed me your article about your car. Big deal. It's a fabbed car, so I didn't figure it'd go for the 1mil or so projected, no matter who's hands were on it. Not saying it's ugly. It looks good. But I don't know about 200 mph constantly in it. Have you taken it to the salt flats? I mean before you sold it? What looks good on paper doesn't really mean anything on the fly. Test and tune, test and tune. I have been close to 200 on a few occassions, things happen quick.

Currious, out of that 588k, what did you actually end up with? considering the entry fees, auction fees, travel and taxes?  Did it take about 20% total?

I don't think it would of brought 1.5 mil for the simple reason that, if someone besides the one guy really would of wanted that car, they would of been there to bid on your car and nothing else.

Sorry if your offended by just simple critics. Don't take it personal. And it's not nice just to come storming in and go off barking like a big dog. I myself would like to see you hang around for some good knowledge you may have to offer. So just don't join in to say a few words and run off.

Let me know where your shop is, I might wanna just drop by and see how things are done around there. If you do associate with us little people :2thumbs: I may have a project or 2 you may wanna scarf up on.
I'm not glad you lost your butt. Never have wished that on anyone, but I would of loved to have seen that pro street car running down 278.

Hope you don't stay mad at the world long. We are who we are. And mean no harm.

Looks like a cross between a Cuda and a doorstop......     :smokin:    :clueless:       :cooldancing:

Still.

Hi Bob (G-force) Johnson. Still going to hang onto the G-force moniker even after you sold it. Maybe you could do a G-force 73 Mustang next. With your prowess you could probably make that a SMOTY. BTY Foose conceptualizes RODS and CUSTOMS and nobody really likes Boyd anymore. Saying that the car gained accolades from those fellows means nothing to me.
Also, you just proved yourself to be overly egotistical to a point of sheer stupidity by ragging on a 68 SS A-body. A mental midget with a king size mouth.

Oh, MR G, If I may call you that. Here's a pic of my back yard car. My partner and I are building this 72 cuda. It is my car and we do all the work ourselves.  Home made sheet metal intake, kinsler injected, and anything you see.
1028 hp 790 tq all chrome moly tubes. Even all the home made 4 link stuff and tie rods are made at our shop. I don't know what the top end is, but it will go 170 in 7.9 seconds. If I had the shop and backing you do, I could get creative like you. But I'm just simple. The body just bolts on it. I also got the texaco havok top alcohol car when they went to top fuel, so I know what speed is. But I don't want you mad at anyone around here just for opinions, we listened to yours didn't we. Plus I average 16 hrs a day work at home or work in 23 states a yr doing my trade. So if you wanna be little a car, do mine, I can take it, this car has been known already to out run baton cars, and other brand names that hadn't came to shake my hand. I might be back yard, but I know the rules when it comes to you run what you brung.

:iagree:

I have seen the cuda in person and it is a nice looking "custom" car, but I have to agree that it is a little over modified for me.

speaking of king sized mouths...I'd just love to see you in person, your house, your car, your girlfriend (in your case probably boyfriend) and see just how smart your liberal arts educated as* is.  It's unbelievable how big some of you geeks sound by hiding behind a keyboard.  I have more than enough mentality to make enough money to build what I want when I want and sell it when I want.  When you win anything in your life but A hole of the year, call me and let me know.  What is your name.  I'd like to google in on it and see how many things pop up with your accomplishments.  If someone has a 68 A Body, they shouldn't be poking fun at a SMOTY 71 Cuda, nor should you with your Kia or whatever your ride is.  You don't have a clue what Foose conceptualizes anyway.  I guess people on here should listen to you instead of Foose, Boyd, Bobby Alloway, Kyle Tucker etc.

It's unbelievable how SMALL some of you MORE WELL KNOWN GUYS sound by hiding behind a keyboard.

I typically don't get involved in many personal issues on sites and this site has not very often crossed over to the personal attacks.  It is the main reason I think we all get along.  The reason I am writing about this is because in reading the only 2 posts that were made (both bonfires of flames) it quickly became very embarrassing to read.  I would expect someone who is successful to be able to take criticism.  Especially in the world of custom cars.  You will never please everyone.  However, I will guarantee, that everyone who has criticized this car has found something about it they do like and may keep in the back of their head for reference later.

My suggestion is to stop, before you start tearing into your reputation.

The comment about Google being a tool to gauge success made me  :roflsmiley:
Remember Google is a tool and that tool can find a lot of things. Eventually this thread.
