Sorry I will restate the question...What is the difference betwen the "normal" rear end and dana or posi rear end? Thanks for your reply...
Dana is a posi(traction) rear end!
Are you sure you understand? I think you are saying that a Dana "is" a posi rearend. Am I right?Because if I am, then you are misunderstanding what MEKrunner was saying. A Dana rearend is the version of the rearend because of the manufacturer not because it is a posi. It measures 9 3/4 inches on the ring (gear) in the Chrysler cars of the 60's/70's. There are other Dana rearends that were used on makes and models of cars and trucks. The Dana refered to in the Mopar cars is called a "Dana 60". The Dana came with a suregrip (posi) unit installed.I hope this helps.
So this means that you can only do one wheel burnout Well these days almost all cudas have sure grip differentials...
We like to call it one wheel drive. Yes, that is how most of them came from the factory(open rear end). I have the sure-grip, but given my car was a base model, I'm sure that was put on later in it's life. I'm NOT complaining though. Mike
It's really funny when you see all of these 4wd trucks driving around. Most of them are 2wd with one drive wheel in the front and one in the back Yep, I've got one of those pickups.
