Buyer/Seller Location

  I think Moparal touched on a good idea. How about if a member wishes to buy, sell, or trade an item then that member must list a location in their profile? Our profiles are editable so that when the transaction has reached a conclusion the location could be removed if desired. That way everyone involved is better informed during the transaction and can resume their anonymity afterwards if they choose.

  Yeah as far as any member's location not being listed in their profile, there's always the pm/email method of contact. I'm ok with that; just figured i'd toss this out jic

Why dont members just list their location in the post when they place an ad?

If it were me, I'd put a sticky (*Must read!) on the for sale/wanted section rules & let them know that they must place their location, failure to do so may result in their thread being closed. Like training a dog, they'll soon learn.

Moparts does something similar-they require you to put contact info in your parts ad or they will delete it.That would work good for location info here,either put it in your sig or in the ad text.It would eliminate all those "where are you located" replys.

ok, I am a member of the ramcharger site, and they police it well.

if you plan to sell an item you must post you location on the subject line, or the thread getts dropped, and I mean like a rock.

you dont put mowpar town, or usa they want your location.  it makes the site very nice to navigate...

I would hate to delete a thread just because they didn't put the location in...that seems a bit harsh.  But...we'll get a rules page together.  Anyone want to take a stab at writing it? Just post it here and I'll revise/use it in the for sale section.
