Good news, Bad news!

The good news, I just received the parts to finish the body of my Cuda'.

The bad news, I have some damage. If some one has dealt with Sherman Parts and UPS frieght in a situation like this, please advise me on the best route to take. All the damage is minor and easily fixed, but they are still supposed to be new parts. I circled the damage in the photo's. Please advise!

So you are supposed to get the delivery guy to stand there for 1/2 hr or so while you open every box & thoroughly check every part , nice way to get out of warranty

I can tell you through my Job that UPS will not allow you to open your packages and inspect them prior to signature.

Then when you find something wrong and file a claim it is always insufficient packing material so they are not liable.

Contact Shermans....Let me know how things fit from them. We ordered some parts and they required some modification for fitment....

I'm sure they will reqire some tweaking to make them fit. The only pieces that don't require some fitting cost a whole lot of money. I will keep everyone post of how it's going. I'm sure I'll run in to trouble and need some advise!

I actually went to the shipping depot yesterday and picked them up to cut down on the handling of them. When I got there it was dark and I didn't see thier lovely little note till today when I opened the box to inspect the parts. The damage that is there, and the way the box looked, looks as it was done prior to shipping, not during. The part of the box that was damaged is where the outer wheel houses were located. There was no other damage to the box!?

Hmm, usually Sherman Parts & Associates is a well-reputable company.  I've always just ordered my sheetmetal through a local supplier (Browns of Two Rivers) and I've never had that problem with damages during shipment.  Hopefully you contacted Sherman the same day you inspected the items (and received them) and they'll work something out with you.

It looks like it would only take a few minutes with a hammer and dolly to fix `em up so I would n`t even bother making a claim.Even if you bought all NOS parts there would be lots of fitting and hammer work.I know it sucks to get damaged goods but I wouldn`t sweat it.UPS will blame packaging and Sherman will blame handling.
