Sounds like horse trading back in the 70's and the 80's.

Very interesting indeed!     All that and not even mentioning the possible effort to pump up the Shelby's in perfect timing of the release of the New Ford Shelby, and gazillion commercials that seemed to always come when a nice Mopar was on deck, or in 57Hemicuda and others, rolling across the blocks way ahead of the promised time and not letting possible bidders know about the change.  I hope that if this stuff is proven to be true, the BJ circus folds up and a more reputable auction takes it's place.....

Well said Oldschool.  :iagree:

With over 97 million dollars in sells this year at 8% seller and 10% buyer fees (for a total of $17,460,000 in fees) as well as purchasing a bidders paddle $500.00 and entry fees $350.00 and tickets to the show $150.00 + for all six days, it would be a shame for someone to be even more greedy.
If what is alleged is true, then someone should spend sometime in jail, and pay restitution to the bidder and sellers.

I like the statement the best “Among the alleged opinions included that the cars at B-J were of inferior quality (and had quality misrepresented,) as well as that the bidders were significantly over-bidding cars, which shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone who has witnessed people paying six figures for cars they could have bought for under $50,000 any other day of the year!!!”  Most of us have been staying this for years.

This definately sheds new light on some of the events. Great point about the Shelbys and if so can you imagine the size of those kickbacks. Will it sounds like it just mat kickback on old Craig Jackson. He does appear to be very arrogant. Remember the incident with the Future Liner.

As we continue to speculate about the Shelby issues at this years B-J auctions in Scottsdale, lets also not forget Chrysler's announcement last year of the Challenger, and how "popular" Mopars were last year.  :bigshades:

It's one thing to use advertizing to promote your car, it's entirely another when kickback money and "false sales" are used to increase your own pocket ching. Big difference.

I said it on another thread, but I still find it hard to believe that Carol Shelby's Cobra sold for $5 million when the whole auction was about Ford, Shelby Mustangs, and GT500 Commercials. Why were some of the hottest Mopars not seen on Speeds TV coverage? It seemed like it was all planned by BJ and Ford.
I've been watching the auction for years and attend Palm Beach, and never seen it like this. I thought it was complete BS for Mopar, and GM people.

:2cents: ,, for what it's worth. I also heard no accounts are settled for at least 30 days. So sell your car and WAIT! Now whats the intrest on a gazillion dollars for 30 days??  :clueless:   :money:

Another fact is there is also the RUSSO/STEELE and RM auctions in that area the same weekend. So there are other places to buy. If you so inclined..   :dunno:

I saw a program on Carroll Shelby and he stated he was offered 10 million for the cobra previously.....He only got half of that at the BJ auction. I love to watch the BJ auctions, I love the cars!!!! But had a bad taste in my mouth (BJ-bad taste-ha ha) after watching this years events. They kept stalling when they didn't get big $$ for a vehcile like the von dutchman bus and then got more $$$, something fishy there. I actually started to dislike craig jackson and started seeing him as someone who wanted $$ and didn't care about the hobby. He had his big buddies come onto the stage to promote a car like shelby, the orange county guys, goldberg and the like. It is a car auction, not a telethon.  :2cents:

Don't know if it's true or not.  But when that kind of money and a battle for top auction house is involved,  I know what bet I'd make.

Should make for good drama in the upcoming months.
