Poll - Worst Aftermarket Rice Accessories?
« on: January 28, 2007 - 08:46:45 PM »

Simple, what annoys you the most or what makes you laugh when you spot cars with them?
To pick one was too hard so pick your 3 worst rice accessories........

For me it's Altezza lights, nothing says CHEAP PLASTIC like these ugly see through pieces of shlt. :eek4: Next would be Monster tachs so everyone can see, they shouldn't need them, old cars with in-dash, no problem. 2001 Subaru with a 5" and shift light? You have a factory dash tach.....use it. And last but not least for me is body kits that are too wide, don't fit and have primer still on them. They just scream PLASTIC and look crap, especially with 13" wheels.

That looks nasty.

My pet peave is the BIG spoilers, supposedly for extra down force. The wooden ones are just insane.

I never call them Ricers, I call em Clown cars. They all remind me of something out of a Circus.
And the one you forgot is the music so loud that all you can hear next to you is vibrating trunk and lisence plate.  :eek4:

That's why I have a couple of sub woofers and a large amp in my trunk, I start hearing too much annoying beat and I break out the best of AC/DC at full volume!  :ylsuper:
Next will be the electric cutouts like Rev and Redline have for the exhaust, for when the fart cans start sounding off, there like little poodles yapping at your heals

TC - Good point on the sounds. lol Nothing wrong with having a nice sound set up but most of these guys install the sound system themselves, once again, nothing wrong with that however it's done very badly. They cruise around thinking their bass is awesome and loud but all anyone outside the car can hear is the car rattling and shaking.....

This one may kill low flying birds!  :smilielol:

This could double as a chicken roaster?

And then there is the "Do it Yourself" kits...  He's even go the monster tach with shift light and 2 litre bottle of NOS on the dash!  :roflsmiley:

2 spaces are needed to park this baby!  It's the Extra-Wide body kit!!!!!   25 cents says the trunk gets torn off at 55mph!

1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.

From someone who has a turbocharged 4 cylinder (2004 Dodge SRT-4) I must say that a BOV is actually not some cheezy aftermarket part, but something that prolongs the life of the turbo. They release excess air when the throttle snaps shut to prevent it from causing a compressor surge. I have one installed on my car, and I'm certain my turbo appreciates it everyday. Now I what I have seen recently is an add-on that makes your non-turbo car sound like it has a BOV on it. Usually installed on Integras or other ricer pos. Working at the dragstrip as a tech inspector I have seen some creative rice cars. Some we had to send home because they were completely unsafe for the track.
