You could put the vinyl repair stuff on it and then shoot it with SEMS but if you're picky it will still look poor. there's the slip on covers I've heard about but I can't imagine them looking too great either. I just replaced mine with a new one from Ulitmate Rides, $625 bucks and a days work but it looks new now.

There are a couple guys in my area that go around to all the car dealerships and fix seats and dashes. They fixed a seat in one of my trucks that the fabric came out of the pile. I couldn't even tell where it was when he was done ($25). You could call to some used car dealerships and find out if they have any of these guys in your area and try one of them, their experience could be the difference of almost perfect fix or a "it looks good for doing it my first time in the garge fix."

Yes,

The caps are nice looking, and the cost isn't bad at all. It's just that they have a hard plastic feel to them. That's why I finally did away with mine. Plus, the cap doesn't really catch all the detail of the 70 Challenger dashpad with the stitching it has. I'm picky, so all this might not matter to someone else.

I haven't seen them in any catalog or anything. I have seen them at Carlisle, and I have seen them on E-Bay. Less than $100 is the going rate. I'll take a look, and if I see anything, I'll modify this post.

I like to call it B5 crushed velour!  :smilielol:  :blah:

It's in original 1970's unrestored condition, a 70's survivor dash cap.    :roflsmiley:

.....new guy to this board.....I bought a 70 cuda, beautiful except that someone put a cap on the dash and it doesn't fit right where the guage panel meets the dash on the right hand side...leaves a good 1/2 inch gap...any ideas on what I can do?   I though making a molding or puting a tach in the space......I wouldl appreciate ANY help you guys can offer....
