Eh, not quite for me, Stevie Ray Vaughan is IMO the best in the business. Anyone can play fast (well, anyone good lol) but playing with rhythm and still at insane finger speed is an art.

I would like to say Angus is, he's the man, but he is rarely given the chance to express himself through songs at Ray's kind of level. AC/DC's riffs are just too simple. I'd like to see Angus match Ray.

Thanks all the same Lemon Twist.

 :iagree:
Stevie Ray is a true god but not to forget Eddie Van Halen. He may have slowed some but in his prime was a true guitar god. Angus is good but to agree I've never heard him show the same class of playing like Stevie or Eddie.

I'm a pretty good guitar player and although there are many styles, I think Joe Satriani is one of the best.  Even Metallica's guitar player took lessons from him!  But there are many more greats out there!   :grinyes:

I seen Steve Via in concert a couple times, with Joe Satriani . They both play an Eddie Van Halen style. But Steve has taken it to another level, the guy is amazing to watch.
Randy Rhodes was another incredible guitar player, mixing classical guitar into his solos.

Todays guitar players all play and pretty much sound the same, I don't know of anyone that stands out with there own style.

It's hard to play good when all their bands do is talk about killing themselves and depressing the buyers.

I agree, all excellent guitar players, but let’s not forget Eric Johnson.  Cliffs of Dover, Trail of Tears, and Bristol Bay are all pretty decent.

"Feel those frets!!" I bought that album the first time i came across it :ylsuper:

My first Stevie Ray show ('85 Soul To Soul tour) was at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta; 'Voodoo Chile' was his encore and i was able to move down to in front of the stage. Just incredible :worshippy
Three others i've seen live who have blown me away are Jimmy Page, Eddie Van Halen, and Steve Morse. But that fellow in the video is pretty good too
