... But I washed my panels, wiped them down with dupont prep-sol and then painted them with satin black Krylon Fusion plastic paint.  They look PERFECT and at 5 bucks a can,  You can't go wrong, I was very surprised.

Exactly what I did. I agree - they came out perfect for me, too. The paint is thin enough that you can still see the texture in the panel, even with a couple of coats.

I used the same stuff on some white panels. They were in pretty bad shape but I could see that where the grain was left you could still see it easily. I though the white might have been a bit bright but I did like the soft feel the plastic paint had and it seemed like it stuck pretty good.

Alrighty...pics this time!  Stripes are on at least the doors and quarters, glass is in minus the windshield.  no pics of them but seat belts and OIL PRESSURE gauge  came yesterday and are installed.  Picking motor up from engine shop today and waiting on some parts from 440 source to complete it!  Wheels and tires came from summit last week and just got them mounted Tuesday on some 235/60/R15 BFG Radial T/A's   I'll try to keep pics up to date.

Way to go! Glad to see that the Krylon Fusion paint worked out so well on the door panels.

Motor is back in mounted and filled with fluids, front suspension is bolted in,  really coming together fast now.  If I get a chance I'll take pics tomorrow!
