Just this afternoon the bosses/owners took the whole shop of around 40 employees out to lunch.A Fishermans platter full of seafood and a couple Sam`s on the company and a two hour lunch paid-not too bad! They do that usually twice a year and a big lobster bake 4th of July party.A couple years ago they took us to F1 go cart racing on a Saturday that was lots of fun and company paid-of course I won the final race and have bragging rights as the the fastest driver!I can also do my own projects out of aluminum, steel or stainless as we are a precision sheet metal shop which is great for car stuff.

You don't get no perks when you're retired, but the wife gets twice the husband at half the pay! :roflsmiley:

Being self employed. Perks are when customers pay their bills on time and valuable musclecar parts left over from restos are given to me by the owners. Vacation, Who has time for vacation. I really need to get out of the shop or should I say the baby sitters job.
Cant kill the mean and ugly. Only the good die young...I plan to be here a while!!

Perks....5 weeks vacation, 4 personal days, 3 illness in family days, 365 full paid sick days. Getting to work on a very interesting project rebuilding an elevated railroad with minimal interruption to service. Plenty of engineering feats, unique solutions, and lots of heavy equipment. The personal satisfaction of knowing when the project is done, that i had a part in making it happen.

additional perks....summers are pretty much tied up for the last 2 years, and will be for the next two, I get to work fridays, saturdays and sundays and get paid my regular 40 hr paycheck (the joys of being an exempt employee!). Gets lots of practice agrueing with contractors too.

I get to vacation for free at anyone of my companies (R+L Carriers) Time share resorts at Pigeon Forge TN, Daytona Beach and Tampa FL .  Plus i get discounts on freight charges

Hey that would be a great perk......NO WAIT, I already live in Pigeon Forge......lol
I have a friend that works for R+L, and I know exactly where you are talking about.

I am self employeed and would not have it any other way. Not so many perks, but I have more off time than the law allows, usually about a week a month lately. My wife is starting to tighten the ropes though, gotta get a new plan......lol
