World Challenger Registry
« on: February 02, 2007 - 08:52:57 PM »
Picked this up on another site.  Trying to compile a complete listing of all Challengers from 1970 to 1974 that are still out there somewhere.  This is like Barry's site except it is for all Challengers.  I just registered mine and there are several already listed.    This would tell the country and or state they are in.  I think it would be good information for all to know where the fever has spread.   David

Yup, registered mine a while ago too but I guess he hasn't reached the 300 car goal yet?

There's plenty of people on this website, I think his previous post got lost in the shuffle.

I have to wonder about the legitmacy of that website - I registered mine 4 months ago & it still hasn't hit 300 cars?  There's gotta be more than 300 just on this site alone.  I have to wonder what this guy is doing with all of the data like VIN's and owners addresses?  I'm glad I don't keep my car at the address I listed, I entered a bogus address (I know a lot of LE people and know better than to give someone you don't know any important info).......

I'm wondering about that too.  The guy making that website is a member here, J J something or other.

You think anyone could possibly do anything with our VINs?  :clueless:

Found it, he's here as JJ.  Last active Feb1, 07.

Hi, thanks for posting. No, I do not have 300 Challengers registered yet. The registry was started in Dec 2006, so it is pretty new.
There are registrations from all over the world (England, Norway, Sweden.... ) it is very interesting to see were all the cars are now.

About the address and VIN question. The address is optional, I actually do not need an address. Just State and Country.
No need to submit a bogus address, just leave the field blank then.
My opinion about VIN Numbers is, that everyone can write every VIN number down of each car, it sits right on the dashboard for everyone to see, so it is not a secret.
Anyway, the registry does not show the VINs in full (JS23H2B1321xx). I hope this helps and answers some questions.

I run this registry for all Challenger enthusiasts, I am one of them. This site can be successfull if I have support and registrations. The registry will be open
for everyone to see. That means you can see how many cars are in Sweden, Texas .... plus ALL the other information, except names and email-addresses.
There is an example on the site.

Many people asked about a registry for all Challengers, I did too. But nothing was out there and nobody wants to do the work involved with it, I guess.
So I thought why not.

Let me know if you have more questions or suggestions. I hope too see more registrations from this board. Thanks.

Regards, JJ

I'm sure it's a lot of work to put all this info togeather. I just found out about your site through this posting and I appreciate anything that can be done to get an idea of whats out there. I just went to your site and registered my Challeger. As far as giving my Vin out or other info I have know problem with that either.  I would like to know how close you are to posting up the registry. How many do you now have registered? I'm sure C-C. Com would be able to supply you with many once they read this posting.
Again thanks for the effort.

JJ, why do you have to wait until 300 to post the registry?

Richard, there are between 80 and 100 Challengers registered. It is a good start for a little over two months online. But I wish there would be more.
The information I received so far is very interesting, there are more cars overseas than I expected.
A few cars have VIN Numbers very close to each other and the majority are the 70 and 71 models.

I thought I wait until 300 cars are registered, so there would be enough information to show to everyone. I am sure as soon the registry is online, there will be even
more registrations. I guess many are just waiting for that point and then register their car.

Thanks to all for registering and your support. I am glad that most, if not all of you, like the idea of a world-wide Challenger registry.

Regards, JJ

Definately a big thanks for taking on this huge task, especially since there seemed not to be a registry that included '72-'74 cars.
