Need Help where do I find the build sheet on my 70 R/T 440
« on: February 03, 2007 - 04:53:39 AM »
I have the original window sticker, bill of sale and owner's manual. Where do I find the build sheet. It is not under the rear seat or over the glove box. Also how do I tell if the motor is a number matching motor. I have known the car for 37 years. The original owner died about 3 yrs. ago, so I can't ask questions.  Mike   typhoon@cascadeaccess.com

I have been told that some of the broadcast sheets were put in the headliner, is that true?
I have also checked the front seat bottoms and backs.

...build sheets may not always be in the car.....behind the rear seat back, or under the rear seat are very common spots....sometimes under the carpet, over the glove box, in the seat backs on the front seats.....virtually anywhere it seems...

...the "matching number" is stamped on a flat pad, on the engine block, just above the oil pan on the passenger side of the car....it will normally be the last 8 digits of your vin#....it can be seen with the car sitting flat, but it is easier if you raise the car a little...

My 70 challenger had the build sheet in the front seats, behind the plastic backs.

One of mine was under the driver's seat.  Supposedly also under the rear package tray, where the rear speakers are.
