I am still hoping to see some time at Carlisle but it is a slim hope. So I must start to work on Mopar nationals Quick. I looked for room before and the best idea was to have my friend pull his 5th wheel camper to the lake near by. The only problem is that him and the family are going some where else. So now I am back to looking for a hotel on the Pa. side. I do not want to go past to find a hotel since it will be a longer ride back.

First time to the NAT'S coming from Colorado and staying on the north side of columbus, where are the best places for the Brice Rd and other cruising?

In The Mopar Nat's Schedule, it always says "join us for cruise night in Heath on Saturday"

Heath is off of HWY 70, going west from the track or Brice Rd.  Take HWY 79, (HEBRON RD.) going NORTH till you see the Best Buy store at 701 Hebron RD.     Last year the town had a live band there, on the parkung lot, next to the street.

Only 8 miles from the track.  Most people go straight there and eat dinner in Heath.  The burnouts are only allowed till 10 or 10:30.

Here is a mapquest from the track to Heath.

See you there!

Brice Rd. Cruising is on the North side of HWY 70.  Exit North on Brice Rd from 70 then start looking for a good place to put your chairs down.  You probably have about a mile on both sides to pick a spot.

Okay,    By now most of you have read the threads about what a great time we had at Carlisle. We had a pizza party at the hotel lot Friday night and met at a Bar/Restaurant on Saturday night.  It was nice being in one big group and putting faces to names.  Anyone notice, besides me, that I was the darkest one there? I was a little worried.

The Mopar Nats is right around the corner.    The parking there isn't as organized since it caters to the drag racing crowd.  So, lets pick a spot to meet .
I'm usually in the swap area the entire time so I'm free at any time.
Saturday, the Heath cruise is going on so we could all meet there for a meal, or just hang out by the band and street?  I think the cruise is from 6-10 or 10:30. We could meet for dinner around 5:00 in Heath.
My hotel is at the Quality Inn right down the street and we usually sit in it's parking lot after the cruise for burnouts on the lot.  You can all hang out with us there. Friday night is open. I was going to cruise Brice but would rather hang out with C-C.com members if we find a spot.

On the way up to Carlisle, I stopped to get gas on Brice Rd. to remember the great times that I remember there.     SCARY STREET when we aren't filling the hotels there.  The gas station where I filled up was almost right in front of "Rachels" a strip club.      (not that I would never go there, just not in my Challenger).    It's one of those bad streets that you don't want to be on after business hours.

I believe this is where I'm going to rest my feet after the show.  Looks like the have an olympic size pool and a full spa for the girlfriend!  The Chicago mopar club is staying there and I stayed at the same hotel as them last year and had a good time.  It is alittle ways from the show but I'll be coming from the north anyways so it will work out just fine.   :grinyes:

Dave,  If You drive down be VERY CAREFUL with your oil pan on the black cuda.  I was looking at that pan and it is very highway friendly.  That means it will kiss anything on the highway that it can.  Speedbumps, railroad tracks, road debris, and anything else it can reach. A guy with a 69 SuperBee on last year's Power Tour, hit some road construction debris and lost 7qts. of oil in 2 minutes.   When I saw him this year, stock pan. those are good for racing but not 4CRUZIN.

I sure know I need to watch where I go . . I would of liked a different pan but this looked like the best one for my setup.   :walkaway:   Thinking of installing a skidplate to help protect it so I don't have any problems.   :dunno:

The problem is that the skid plate is only an inch and your pan drops 2".  I used to drive my Chally as a daily driver years ago. It too had a Moroso deep pan, not a wedge stype like yours, I hit some RR tracks one day and smashed the heck out of it and sprung a leak.  I had to find a screw to put into it and keep adding oil till I got it home.

Have somebody drive behind you and watch the pan.  At every slight bump, they will see your pan ALMOST touching the ground.
