thats because its a 45 minute drive to the track from there.

I believe this is where I'm going to rest my feet after the show.  Looks like the have an olympic size pool and a full spa for the girlfriend!  The Chicago mopar club is staying there and I stayed at the same hotel as them last year and had a good time.  It is alittle ways from the show but I'll be coming from the north anyways so it will work out just fine.   :grinyes:

Actually its 34 miles to the track from there and all highway.  Probably still take 45 minutes with all the traffic.   :banghead:

Hey MEK, are you going? You gota hotel yet?

I'm still in a state of flux. If I come over there, it will just be for Saturday. I have no Hotel plans as of yet, and if I go, it's iffy if I would bring my Challenger all that way(7 hr. drive or so). That's a few large bills in gas money, with the Chally.  :22yikes: The weather might be the determining factor there. Stay tuned.

Mike quit screwing around and start packing.

If you get your a$$ out here you can stay in my room with me and my son. I'm still trying to see if there are any last minute cancellations at our hotel for other members here.  We are right next to the Saturday cruise spot and there are other things going on in the parking lot all night.  We are only in the room to shower and sleep anyway. and we have a POOL!     Screw the weather and start driving.   I came out to Carlisle, which was 16.5 hours on the road there and 14 back. Any sissy can drive 8 hours. AND bring your CAR!  If this was 1970, people were driving them to California, without problems.

Rob,

I agree they were driving them in 1970, but they weren't modified to get even less gas mileage.    AND the cost of gas was .30 cents a gallon back then  :poopoke: . You tempt me brother!!  :worshippy  I will gladly sleep on the floor of your Hotel room if I get out there. I'm low maintenance, but my car.... not so much.

I've never been out there, so what is this "club parking on the show side"?? If I register, what the heck am I doing? Do they have a fun field thing like Carlisle , or what?   :1zhelp:

No fun fields for me. Maybe 4Cruizn can tell you about that side.  I stay on the other side since the swap area is there.
The group we are with get there on Wed night, Thurs Morning to setup a tent for us to park around. We always park on the right side looking down the track. If you come out, you'll park with us if you like. We park between the Pit parking lot grass show car area which also is at the top of the swap meet area. Show cars have to be there the first day for judging, like pink panther said so after that day, we park wherever we want.

My son and I can share a bed, you can have the other one, if you bring a friend we can also get a rollaway bed in there for a few dollars more.  2 years ago we had 3 in the room, each paying for a single day.

Things can happen in your life where you might not be able to go next year. Things come up.

The north side of the track is the judged area and they park like the cars at Carlisle . . in their class.  Cost more but with the limited parking area for the showfield . . may be worth it.   :dunno:

I started a new thread for meeting saturday night.  We can still meet during the day sometime.  This way members don't have to sort through 4 pages of posts just to find anything out.

Rob,

If you do see me there, I'll be driving my Mustang. At least it knows what the "D" on the gear selector means.  :poopoke:
