1970 AAR Power Steering PumpThis is an original power steering pump, complete with the pulley, mounting brackets, fluid cooler and associated hoses. This was rescued from a very wasted 1970 Plymouth Cuda AAR. The Part Number is 3004800, and it would presumably also be date correct for a 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A.
The pump is a 1.06ci displacement unit (3/8 inch treaded hole shaft) that was specifically matched to the quick-ratio (approx. 2.5 turn) gearbox found on the AARs and T/As. The pulley is slotted and around 7 inches in diameter, compared with stock pulleys that look to be around 5 inches. As noted, this also includes the finned power steering fluid cooler.
My Chrysler Parts Interchange Manual also indicates this part-numbered pump will also work on the:
• 1969 Belvedere, Charger and Coronet with V8
• 1969 Fury, Polara with 6cyl or V8
• 1970-1971 Charger, Coronet, Duster, Satellite and Valiant w/318 or 340
• 1972 Dart, Duster, Valiant, Charger, Coronet and Satellite w/V8
• 1973-1974 Dart, Duster and Valiant, all engines
• 1973 Barracuda, Challenger w/V8
