I was driving home from school last night and it was pooring rain, I was driving under the speed limit because I knew this was our first rain since mid December, when all of a sudden my car started to hydroplane and the rear end just kicked out. There was nothing I could do but hang on until it stopped. I am completely fine and was able to drive the car away from the scene, but there is frame damage in the rear cuz the wheel is sitting kinda funny, but it may just be a control arm. I hit some bushes in the center divide and damged virtually every body panel on the car even the roof. All of the glass is intact, everything works, all the doors open and close ok and no air bag deployment. I should find out this afternoon the damage total. I'm totally bummed cuz that little car means the world to me.  :walkaway: :walkaway: :walkaway:

Here are some pictures of the car.

I inspected the tire and it isn't blown, I think the bead broke when I slid off the road. I think if they do total it I am going to buy it back, because I love that car and I should be able to fix it pretty easily. What really sucks is that last month I spent 1000 bucks on it for new water pump, timing belt and the 60k service.

At least your OK.  Doesn't look totaled IMO.  I guess depends on the value and all but it looks like a lot of bolt on stuff you could do yourself: spoiler, exhaust, control arm, then alignment.

I guess you have to see it in person to really get a hold of the damage to the body.  If it were me and you don't have the $$$ see if you can pop out some of the dents from the inside.  Just my 2 cents.

Hope it all works out for you.  Those are fast little cars!

The pics don't look bad. I just hope the frame isn't bent. Glad you are OK too.  Hydro-planing is a scary thing. I tried it once, and didn't like it.  :grinno:

After you hear from the insurance company, and you/they decide to fix your car, look up my brother, thepowertowin (James) at his website www.speedandpowerdevelopment.com or look under his section in Srtforums.com (S & P Development) and he can get you hooked up with all mopar replacement parts for your SRT4 cheaper than from a dealer.

Sorry to hear about your car......that always is a bummer  :walkaway:

I'll know tomorrow if they are going to total it or not. If they do I am going to buy back the car and keep it. I love that car and it isn't going anywhere. I have found three possible replacements in the event I need to buy a car this weekend, a 2004 Subaru STi white, a 2004 Mini Cooper S fully loaded silver and black, and number 1 of 200 commemorative edition SRT-4 White with blue stripes. I think if they total mine I will get the other SRT-4 because I would like to have another one while I repair mine and what better than a limited edition with only 3k miles. I talked to the manager and they have had that car for almost 3 months and want to sell it. I should be able to get it for less than 20k, but we'll see. Thanks again to all the support I will give you an update tomorrow afternoon.

Also I checked out that website and they have a lot of cool stuff. Thanks for the info. :2thumbs:

The estimate won't be finished until Monday, but the adjuster that has been assigned to the claim I am told is the person my insurance company assigns when they want to total a car. If they do that like I said before I am going to buy and back and fix it myself. In the mean time I have found three possible replacement cars.

2004 White Subaru STi
2004 Silver Mini Copper S
2005 number 1 of 200 commemerative edition SRT-4

I am pretty sure that I am going to get the limited edition SRT-4 if they do total my car but the other two especially the STi is tempting.
