Any Mod tops out there?
« on: February 08, 2007 - 06:54:51 PM »
Just wondering if there are any mod tops out there.  Was your car coded for the Mod Top, but you just couldn't live with yourself?
Have pics?
post 'em

...I was racing the streets in 68-70, and I never saw a real MOD TOP till 10-15 years ago at the MOPAR Nats.....rare cars....

MOD was a term of Brittish origin used in the late 1960's for clothing (same type patterns as the tops in the pix), haircuts, mens clothing etc etc....MOD (modern) was anything trendy, young, chic....Carnaby Street in London was "MOD HEADQUARTERS".......not really sure why I remember all this useless crap...

Thanks Barry,
I saw a LP23 Dart GT hardtop 1 of 14 made last year at the Woodward Dream cruise. (it was the green on the green floral. I have NEVER seen another one.
I go to MANY car shows locally, and if it's rare, I hear about it from someone.

I would love to find that Mod Top Dart GT to show at  the Eyes On Design car show I help organize this summer. (More on that later)

Anyway, just wondering if we have any on this site.

I would love to see some pics of the Cudas with the mod tops. I have an old magazine pic of a Mod Top Cuda, but I would love to find a newer image.
Maybe this goes in the Ebody Pics topic later.

I know of a 440-6, one Hemi and two 318 Barracudas with the Mod Top.

The Hemi car should be making a public debut fairly soon...........  ;)
