kentucky challenger
« on: February 09, 2007 - 06:05:41 PM »
I started this project 2 yrs 2 mos ago.A71 challenger from alabama a friend bought of ebay.He had a kid and opted out.He has amajor mopar project and could'nt afford both. The car was pretty original 318 ac car Plum crazy disc brakes vinyl top.It looked pretty ugly put as i disassembled it i was happy to find how solid it was.My original intention was to throw a paint job on it and swap motor and drive it.But it has gotten a lot more involved.I still do not want a show car but a cool street car.So I'm not worried to much about originality but try to keep some retro aftermarket parts.I do what I think is tasteful and functional.I did the rear quarter patch panels myself had someone else do paint and what little bondo needed.A&a did the tranny I rebuilt the 440 myself.I bought a third member from mancini with 355 gears and rebuilt the suspension myself with front and rear swaybars.Their isn't much on this car that hasn,t been replaced. This is the first car i've ever restored So I have made some mistakes.I have some pics but some during the middle Ibought a new camera so I have to reduce them I'll download what I can.I welcome any comments good or bad thanks Terry
