It doesn't resemble the Demon in any way....but I like it.  Looks better then the crossfire convertible IMO.

Guys,

I like the comments both positive and negative. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. The Dodge Demon name came from a vote that was from teh entire Design Office, and had to go through Marketing, and scrubbed through PR. There is nothing that should reflect any imagry from the past Demon namesake.

Maybe some of you know, maybe some of you don't. I work in Design. Shhhh.....Yes. This is my work. We spent a lot of time on this baby. The interior is far superior from what we have done in our past for this market segment. The textures, materials, they are all very nice. The Instrument panel iand doors are a nice soft-touch embossed mechanical grain with accent color stitching. No leather at all. The seats are cloth, but have the accent color stitching, and they are COMFY! Just the right amount of support, not too much not too little.
The panel layout had to e really simple- I am sure you have read the press release.

I'm the guy on the left. That is Jae on the right. He is a great designer, talented and very humble. Thought I would share.

It's hard not to take it personally when people bash us. We know getting into this business that you can't make everyone happy. We hope we reached a few.

DMZ do you happen to have any new "insider" info on the Challenger? Also the Demon looks like it would be a fun car to drive, I think it would compete well with the Sky and Solstice. :2thumbs:

Hey Dan, thanks for joining in. The pics that you put up certainly make the Demon look better then that first little pic posted.
The overall look reminds me more of a 350Z but tone down the grille please.  I think the public is tired of that look and a more subtle grille like the one on the Challenger concept looks nicer. IMO

Thanks for giving us your thoughts and please believe me when I say most of the people on this site would love to have a job like yours !!!

BLAH!!!  I don't know about that one. :-[  Perhaps with it being such a one-off design, maybe stick a name that doesn't bring up the past and it'd be fine with me. (like the Caliber)

Unfortunately I can not comment on futue product. I am a huge fan of the Challenger-both new and old- Hence my presence on this site.

I have stayed out of the '08 Challenger discussion for a reason. I don't want to get caught up in anything regarding our future products. Let's say it's a job security sort of thing.
Again, I am glad to hear the responses both positive and negative. Keep 'em coming.

Hey I love the concept... its a great idea....I can even jump on the roadster ideas...and it is hard for them to not start looking a lot alike...and yes BMW(which is right down the road from me... so I see a lot of those) looks a lot like this one.. or the otherway around...

Let me beg of the design team to consider one thing....and Mopar has been here before...a bare bones, no frills, two door, daily driver car...think Dodge Dart Swinger, Plymouth Valiant...etc. A good looking car that can run from the showroom, with numbers on the street to rival the mustangs...a simple calling car...with and I know this is the hard part... a price tag that a highschool student could aspire to...

make it simple... no A/C, No Radio, No frills...heck how many Challengers out there still have a running radio, A/C, etc...

Chrysler, now what are you thinking? Some of those designers over there need their heads examined and I don't mean cylinder heads. These guys are nuts...

See guys, look what you did. Now Dan is not going to design any more cars for us. Hope you're happy. :swear:

Just kidding. Seriously, though, I think that it is a pretty nice looking car, though, like everyone else, I think that the crosshair grille is just a touch overused. Okay, more than a touch... can't you round up the braintrust and figure out how to make dodges that DO NOT have a big ol' crosshair? Seriously, I know the company line is that it is a "recognizable element that unifies the dodge line and keeps it in the public's conciousness", or something like that, but shouldn't building stylish, quality cars that review well and the public likes be more than enough? Just put the rams head on the nose and it will be fine.

That aside, the Demon is a pretty nice concept, but just be wary about flooding the market for sporty roadsters...

One more thing: are those headlights part-shared from the Mitsubishi Eclipse?

Another major concern is why and how can they afford this!?!?! With all these designs popping up, although this maybe just another pro-concept job, how can they afford it? I think they're going too far. They should make the Challenger which has been very well except (understatement) and make it right. If sales go well and they make decent profits then go to the drawing board and design a new retro car. If they start putting 2 or 3 new retro cars on yards IMO there will be a big slump and a loss of sales. Designing cars, making them & advertising them is not a cheap game.
