If DC does build this car and uses the name Demon I doubt that the name would help sell any, I also doubt that the percentage of the public that knows the name Demon could make a connection to this model. Therefore to reach the target consumer a more appropriate name would be called for, maybe something that begins with SR....SRZ ?.?
Anyway this thread reminds me of a conversation I had with my Dad several years ago, it had to do with some of the classic names being re-hashed and how that seemed to be a good thing for sales but more to the point the fact at that time that Oldsmobile's campaign "IT'S NOT YOUR FATHERS OLDSMOBILE" was a complete failure and that GM was dropping the line. By then there was not a single Old's that had a traditional name. I mused that thru the eighties they maybe the best selling model of all time, the Cutlass, and that if they had at least presented a model with the heritage of the Cutlass that the line might not have gone down the tubes. Point being people do connect with the past, even if just by a name, but with the flavor of that name. Positive examples Impala SS, 300M, Marauder, Mustang, Challenger, maybe the new Charger. Negative examples GTO, T-Bird.
