I believe this is referred to in the scientific world as "Murphy's Law".

I believe it's the same as dropping a bolt while working on the engine.
It goes every except to the ground.

the chances of it landing face down are directly proportional to the cost of the surface it will land on - expensive, hard to clean = 100% chance of face down landing! which can be expressed thusly: $$$ + Pi = :swear:!

This is the same as the mysterious self-twirling wires. Whenever two wires get anywhere in the vicinity of each other there is an automatic attraction and they start twirling around each other until they are in a rats nest knotted up beyond beleif. I look at them and say "Damn I know that I didn't tie these in a knot".

Yup, Murphy's Law.

States that if you drop your buttered toast it'll always land butter side down.  :(

It is even worse to clean up when it's peanut butter toast. If you haven't tried it, you don't know what you are missing.  :grinno:

Kinda like at work when I drop a lightbulb it shatters , but if I throw it it bounces.  Go figure.

I heard this scientific theory once.

Buttered toast always lands face down.

Cats always land on their feet.

So if you strap a piece of buttered toast, buttered side up, to a cats back, and drop them, they will just spin wildly in mid-air, forever.
