72-74 Challenger / Cuda Value $$$
« on: February 13, 2007 - 02:50:51 PM »
I've been noticing lately on ebay the 72-74 Cuda and Challengers have been going up lately !!! even with non matching motors they have been bringing in 15-25 grand....

Maybe it's because the regular joe cant afford a 70/71 - 6pack/hemi or just the years alone are worth a lot more!

Resto-Mods are extremely hot right now...especially on BJ...nobody want to ruin a 70/71 so why not do it with a 72-74 custom..
I saw a 72 Challenger REST MOD go on BJ last night for $52,000...

Maybe it's also the 08 Challenger coming out as well...whatever it is..keep it going$$$

I have noticed that also. That is good news to me I have had my 72 Challenger for 9 and a half years now and will probably dumping a crapload of money into it next year when I restore it again. But I don't see myself selling it ever lots of good memories and drove it all through high school. There have been a few numbers matching cars into the mid 40k range as well in the past few months.

I agree. I've definitely noticed an increase in Ebay prices on 72-74 Barracudas over the last year.  I sure don't consider Ebay a tool for market evaluations though - just an indicator.  I thought that alot of the low and mid-priced Ebodies (not projects) were generally under priced last year.  The guy who appraised my '73 Cuda last fall doesn't use Ebay pricing either.  $55K for a '72 Challenger is a bit of a stretch though!  I've been watching the prices as I was thinking about selling mine in May/June.  I get bored with a car after a couple of years (Over the last 6 years I've restored a '64 Polara and a '71 Demon).  My wife is hoping I'm not the same way with women  :roflsmiley:

There were a couple of '68/9 Valiant post cars on Ebay that got me going!  It's almost time to move on.

It's been coming....... ;) It won't happen overnight, but it will happen. I love my 73 'Cuda to death and once I'm done with it I'm sure she grab just as much attention as any 70 or 71 Cuda. :smokin: If not, who cares! lol I like it.

Yeah, I've noticed the price rose rather quickly for any '72-'74 E-body, whether it was a basket case, rust bucket, or fully restored.  It's good to know I'll always have less money than what the market seems to be pushing these "less desirable" years. :grinyes:
