That car does look real nice and sounds nice!  Body looks solid.  No rust or anything.

The engine bay does need a little help but a nice washing will make it look pretty good.  Just looks like a lot of dirt.

$25K does sound a wee bit high but it looks pretty nice.   Then again, to find a running '70 Barracuda that looks this good may be hard.

I hope you can get 25K or more for it. Just makes my car all that more valuable. It is crazy lately what prices these cars bring. But they are in demand and if you want to avoid restoration cost then you need a solid starting point.

I am not so sure that you can find any ebody that is a decent driver for 12,000 anymore.  If so, I haven't been finding them.  If you have one that you are wiiling to sell for 12,000, then please contact me.

Thanks,

:iagree:  Again, not saying this is a steal at 25K but someone please send me a 25K car that is considerable better then this one and i'll gladly buy it. I've been seeing tons of 72-74's selling for well into the 20's that I wouldn't look at against this one.   :clueless:

Comparing a 70 Plymouth to a 70 Dodge is apples and oranges as far as the market is going. The Plymouths are bringing a considerable amount more than the Dodges. I recently bought a 70 Plymouth with a 318 for 9k that was straight body except for the passengfer fender and header panel and the only rust is in the trunk. I would say that if hew gets 25k good for him but with the market the way it is I would say it is probably worth closer to 20k.

Prices just seem to be crazy and in any direction in any given day. First person that shows up with 12k at my door will be driving a bb challenger home.  I always worry about flippers tho. Hard to find an e body with perfect floors and trunk and stuff now adays. And if it isnt on ebay or Barrett, all you get most of the time is tire kickers and someone wanting to trade a truck, bike or mustang for one. I my self am a plymouth guy more then dodge.  :2thumbs:

If the car has a fender tag and/or B/C sheet and is a real purple car with 6-way seat, uncracked grille, A/C and is as rust-free as it appears, it's right on the money (pun intended) at $25k. (They ALL need trunk floors, don't they?)

VIN kit rotted shells and MAJOR projects are well past the $10K mark nowadays and the "real" cars are so out of reach, its amazing. 72 & 73 340 cars are well into the $20's, so a nice purple 70 has to be right up there...And yes, the Cuda's have historically been up to 50% more than the Challengers.

I'm wondering what happened to the original door panels and dash??? Is this a real Gran Coupe or a "VIN reassignment"??? I noticed some really funny VIN rivets or screws or something and I don't see a fender tag. If this car had a color change or VIN swap, it's NOT worth the $$$.

Does the girl actually help around the shop or just get in the way?

Moparal, have you got details and pics of your Challenger? I'll be selling my 71 Charger soon and am looking for an E-body.

Just my 2-1/2 cents.........Have a Mopar day!
My name is Steve and I'm addicted to Challengers...

I have a friend in West Tn that has a 70 Barracuda Gran Coup with some rust and no engine or trans.  However it is very restorable.  Its a Plum Crazy with a white vinyl top car too.   I think he will take $7900 for his car.   They also have other Mopars but wont sell.   They have (2) 71 Cudas,  a 68 Convertible Roadrunner,  and two more Hard top roadrunners, and a convertible GTX.    Now dont think you will buy these cars, and they are not fools either.   However they have a few too many cars, and will sell the 70 Barracuda Gran Coup car.     You could have a very nice car here finished for 25K.   very nice.    If anyone wants to know inquire about this car, they can email me at hdrchal@aol.com     I have no connection to the car other than knowing the people.

Get some stock valve covers and air cleaner.  New voltage regulator and clean up that master cylinder.

If the trunk is solid, spend some time cleaning it up and painting it.

Gotta spend money to make money.  To get $25k, it wouldn't take much to get it attractive enough to get what you want.

If I started out w/a 1970 non-Cuda, I woulda done an AAR clone and not just a plain, jane 'Cuda.

AARs are going for six figures and are much cooler looking than '70 'Cudas IMHO.  A clean, clone AAR would prolly get $35k.

I like my 70 barracuda as a barracuda. It didn't come with an engine, so I had my choice. It was a factory 318 4 speed fc7 car with a 6 way, rallye dash, dual mirrors, front n rear speakers, console, sure grip, and M46 quarter scoops. I am not sure if the quarter scoops add to the value of my car, but I am putting the car back to how it came except I built a 440-6 for it and it is installed now. Since I went on the road last week, ups and usps have brought me a bunch more factory parts to install back on it. I get the seat covers (black ) in two weeks. I still have around 3k left to go before I start dumping the clutch. :2thumbs:

My car is rust free too. I will not wash my fenderwells or clean the master cylinder or anything like that. I will drive the crap out of it and keep it parked away from others in the walmart parking lots  ... lol
I got no Idea what it's worth, but I would hope my 318 car would be close to 20...ALAN
