Denny's is very particular. They fit perfect as long as you measure right. I didnt like the fact they refused to sell me a replacement Ujoint for their shaft tho. (customer's car). They said they were having delivery issues because Spicer had just been sold, and they couldnt get the joints they were ordering, and they needed them for the driveshafts they had on order. I used a local replacement from a local driveshaft place. The local place will make the car's new driveshaft in a month or two. The Denny's one was spec'd too short. As far as stregth, depedning on your hook, you'll have a harder time with joints than the tubular shaft. I wouldnt get an aluminum one. With 3" exh and a big diameter shaft, things can get dicey under the car.
