Yes another Clutch Question!!!
« on: February 16, 2007 - 06:18:07 AM »
Just like everyone else there is way too many Clutch choice's

I am trying to figure out which clutch to buy and what size to buy.
The Flywheel (130 tooth) is from a 318 3spd original motor and trans
The old clutch is a 3 finger 10.5"

Now I have a 340cid 450hp with a A833 OD

Since reading all the info on this site about Mcleod Clutch's, I will most likely be buying one.

Now Which One / Size

Mcleod Web site:
                                                                                  Disc               P/P               Disc               P/P              T/O
340" 5.6L ENG. 1973-68     B&B     10.5" [4]     1X23     260121     360156     260821     360153     16053
RECOMMENDED                     DIAPH    10.95"            1X23    260121            360710            260821            360709            16053

[4] 10.95 PRESSURE AND DISC ARE USED IN THIS APPLICATION

How will the 10.95 B&B fit? When I used to have a 10.5" clutch
Are the bolt patterned different
Do I need a new Flywheel?

Help Please   :dunno:

I would use the 10.95 B&B or the B&B / Long
the 10.95 bolts onto the same flywheel [130 tooth]as the 10.5

It's a good idea to resurface the flywheel when installing a new disc.  I thought that the borg and beck/long clutches would be ideal due to the lower pedal pressure but they are expensive.  If I remember correctly they were more than 50% more than the Centerforce Dual Friction. I guess it depends what you want.

Mopac quoted me $750 for the McLeod Long and I paid approx $500 for the Centerforce Dual Friction.
