1973 Cuda Grille
« on: February 16, 2007 - 08:20:35 AM »
I have a question about the grilles in 72-74 Cudas.  I have noticed that these grilles have RED around the openings on each side of the grille.  Is this paint or some kind of red insert?   I shamelessly stole a picture off the net and have attached it here as an example.

Thanks,

1969 Barracuda Coupe, 340, 4-speed

My '72 Cuda grille right out of the Mopar box was red, not fire engine red put definitely red. The photo their looks correct. I did re-paint a grille last year and I'll have to look for the can of paint I used that matched pretty darn close. . It's under my work bench somewhere.. Vin...

I used Hugger Orange - not sure if it's exactly right but it looks good. It's a little redder than hemi orange.

Thanks vinb!  I will see if I can find a can at Walley World the next time I am in there....   Did the color have a name on the can or just a number?  I am sure it read "72-74 Cuda Grille Paint"....... :roflsmiley:

All '72 to '74 Barracuda and 'CUDA grilles have the red.  Even the body colored grilles on some '72s
