We should just remember that if the big 3 fall the ripple effect will be huge and buying a new car will be the least of our worries. Who wants to drive a Hyundai Challenger anyway? Fortunately I don't work in this industry.

I love GM cars and I love Mopars. GM makes some fine cars and trucks and so does DC, I would not have a problem with the merger. I know the thought of it makes some people want to  But this is 2007 and not 1970, and who knows it might be the greatest thing to happen to both companies. We have to support the US auto builders for what ever it takes.

There has been speculation of how the new Challenger may effect the current models of Challengers as far as value, well if this merger/sale does happen ALL old Mopars will be worth no less than twice as much accross the board because the true Mopar will be killed (bought) off. And I beleieve there will be more and new companies opened to keep our cars running and restored. But can you imagine the price of projects and parts?

My guess is that we would be shocked if we knew of all the talks going on between the auto manufacturers.  One exec said that this goes on frequently and that they are mostly exploratory conversations that don't lead to anything.
