Ahhh on my way south again
« on: February 22, 2007 - 09:48:43 PM »
I have been stuck way up in the north west for 8 days. 7 miles from canada. I drove 1300 miles since yesterday through ice and snow and made it over Snowquamie. That was rough. In about 4 days, I will be starting this and installing a dozen more parts I have had shipped home while I have been working. I don't have the most recent pics on my laptop here in the motel, but here's my toy I am getting ready to fire up the second day I am home if nothing distracks me.
Rad is in electrical is hooked up manifolds are on, hoses and belts too, 4 speed is in and adjusted. I needed a dual point, but I will start it on the single point to break it in. Just hooking up lower fuel lines and at the tank, cap, wires, and coil, is ready to install.

What cha think?

Wicked , but why points ??

I know, call me crazy Chryco, but I am kinda putting it together as a 70 model, as equiped. It's killing me because I know what is a good header for it, tie the frames, 7al2, install my indy heads and everything else, but for right now, I want one from 1970 and no add ons. The valve covers are coming off, I got the correct 70 covers at the house that arrived when I went on the road. I will do some radial tires though.

All my e bodies have hotrod parts of some sort on them. I wanna show the locals and my friends what these cars were when new.

2000 miles total today, and I am in a holiday inn  here at the office till Tuesday, then home to play with my cars

ANYBODY GOT A 1970 FACTORY DUAL POINT?

I will upgrade to electronic later in my project :2thumbs:

Thanks for all the great comments on my toy. I hope I got my 12k investment out of it. That is what it has taken so far to buy the rust free body and drive train and rebuild it all till today so far. I still lack around 3k for rims, tires, dash pad, seats, carpet and exhaust. The car will be painted in April. I have already paid cash in advance for that. The paint right now is just a couple of pre coats. No wet sanding or buffing. Just so it didnt look ugly. There isn't much body work required.  The shell was taken down to the metal. I left the undercoating on the car since it had no rust or damage anywhere.

Wish I would of brought the updated progress pics with me. It is a bunch more further along then pictured now.

Another painful problem I deal with is keeping it a 70 barracuda and not a cuda. I still have to install the M46 quarter scoops on when Scott Smith has the repros ready for it. And the pin striping along with the black outs.

Anyone can buy a cuda, try finding a M46 option barracuda, it's a lot harder to do. Like trying to buy a sunroof barracuda. There just too hard to find for me to erase the history. I did on my yellow one and it will never be the same. I had a yellow M46 car I sold, now it's an AAR clone somewhere in California.  I'll see if I can find a pic in photobucket of it.
