My Barracuda -
« on: February 23, 2007 - 03:56:40 PM »
Been asked a couple times how the old fish is doing. So i'll make a post on it, body shop hasn't touched it in two weeks. Taking me for a idiot (which some would agree with ) they are claiming they couldn't do ANY work until they got the lower control arm (I had to find..). They told me that for the fender too, fender has not been painted, nor test fitted so that was a bunch of  :poopoke:. They kinda got the message as far as I'm not buying that story and claim they 'will get it finished'  :blah:. We'll see how far that gets me. :horse:

In the meanwhile I've been gathering parts. New alum master cyl, manual brake conversion, inline tubing all new stainless hardlines, new raybestos rubber lines, new 11 3/4" rotors/calipers/pads/bearings, new wheel cylinders, brake shoes (pretty much 100% brake overhaul). New Moog ball joints, will be replacing the main and rod bearings in it that are suspect to be hurt from the old piston/valve confrontation from 2years ago or so by now. Will be adjusting the bands in the trans, new fluid/filter, alignment, blah blah blah  Can't wait to get it back to tear it apart.

So i can go click off a 13 now that i'm about 5,000ft less than i was in Vegas, I think i can pickup a tenth  :stirpot:

The shop apparently sent a cashiers check to a seller for a LCA. So they say, thanks for keepin an eye out Al.

It seams pretty universal that they all must take a class in excuses. Every one I have delt with will never turn down a job or be honest with how long your going to wait. I don't see that if they are backed up and it's going to be a month before they will touch your car why will they just not tell you instead of string a person along.

He was very 'once we get the fender i want to get it finished and back to you'. Has since fallen far from that, it's one thing or another. I told him the steering column and the lower control arm were bent when i gave him the car in december. Took him 2months to realize that, 2weeks to find the part  :blah:. So needless to say, im sending a money order monday for a steering column. I'll clean it up and wait for the 'call' saying my column is bent.  :banghead:

If you were in my area, you wouldn't have half of these problems and then you'd be asking, hey al, how can we get in the 11's now without nos :smilielol:

People sure charge a bunch for a little in return now a day. Helps when you have friends and neighbors that can pitch in and lend a hand. It always works both ways

There is nothing worse than having your classic tied up in repairs. When waiting on someone to do it is depressing.   Hope you are cruising soon with a better than before Cuda!
