Ice storm!
« on: February 24, 2007 - 01:32:27 PM »
We are in the middle of a bad ice storm right now. You step outside and you can see and hear tree limbs and whole trees falling everywhere. We were without power for a couple of hours, but a friend of mine at the electric company got us back up. The whole family was supposed to go to DesMoines this weekend overnite, but that got scrubbed. I just took a few pic's. Maybe more later. Dave

Dave I have been though 2 ice storms in southern IL. already this winter. It has left a sour taste in many mouths as some people were without power for 5 days. We are getting strong winds close to 50 mph today and heavy rain. Hope this is the last for this year and good luck.

Sorry to here. All we are getting is a lot of snow, so the weather man says, but it doesn't look like it's doing much. I hope they are wrong!

A few more pic's I took while driving around. Oskaloosa and Mahaska county are under a state of emergency. The law enforcement wants everybody to stay at home until they can get a handle on the downed power lines and all the tree's blocking traffic. Several hi-ways are closed. It's starting to snow and sleet now. Looking for 5-8 inches tonite. Hopefully the freezing rain is over. :grinyes:
