Year One 73 Challenger on Speed
« on: February 27, 2007 - 10:13:56 AM »
Did anyone see that Year One 73 Challenger on Speed for that new show Forza Motorsports? :droolingbounce: I liked the look so much I may look into getting a Challenger and fixing it up to look the same way. Plus a project Challenger starts off at a decent price compare to a Barracuda…Um let me think…Nice, but I still want my Cuda!  :screwy:
Maybe after I get a Cuda I can do a Challey. :thinkerg:

I personally like the 70 Challenger the best. But with the right colors and options, the 72-74 Challengers look really angry with the "sadface" grille.

I can imagine a custom billet grille on one of those would look really nice.

I've often thought about creating a bolt in replacement grille, billet possibly, for the 72-74 challengers. I would probably sell a few if they were done right. I've always thought that if they had just recessed the original grille a little more they would have looked better. If I end up with another 72-74 chal, I have a few 70 grilles lying around that I could practice with.

Here are a few pics. I liked it way better without all of the stickers. Its a black (kinda of flat black) all over, very little crome on the body. If I can find pics before the stickers I will post and all can see. It was crazy in the first show, it missed a run down the strip, because they couldn't get it out of reverse. Then on the road course it broke the drive shaft in half. They had a camera inside the car and it looked like the rear end blew up since tranny fluid and smoke just filled the inside.

That was a pretty good show except the Camaro and Challenger both had problems. The Challenger broke a driveshaft on the road course and put a nice big hole in the tunnel.Hopefully the Year One crews can do some better prep work and the old musclecars can show the new Vette and Stang and the riced Z`s thier tailights.

Blacking out the front end of the 72-74 Challengers really changes its appearence into something much tougher looking.
