Who else here is nuts ?
« on: February 27, 2007 - 01:13:20 PM »
Just want to see how deep the craziness runs.

My 74 Challenger is gonna have pretty much all stock parts that came on 70 - 74 Challys.  But my 73 RoadRuster is gonna be filled with every period aftermarket part I can find.

FuzzBuster Radar Deflector
Pioneer KP-500 FM Cassette player
Cassete to CD adaptor
TV tuner for radio.
Stereo 8 Reverb
Pioneer wedge speakers
Mr. Gasket Hood Pins
Mr. Gasket Shifter Boot
RoadRunner & Wile E. Coyote seat covers
Thrush Outsider Side Pipes

I'm stopping just this side of a shag carpet dash cover.

I know I've got more stuff hidden away I'm forgetting, but you get the idea.

Who else has a bunch of this stuff ?

I did the same thing to the RR. Our Challenger is stock looking and the RR we did the way it would have looked two weeks after taking delivery. Headers  and alum intake with a Holley. On the interior is an aftermarket radio and tach with a Hurst shifter instead of the island type that should be there. I wanted the RR to have the feel of a mild street hotrod they mostly all had in the first years.

It's funny how great minds think alike! :2thumbs:

Go for the crushed velour!  Feels nicer IMO.  The original owner put this on in the 70's.  I will eventually pry this stuff off.  Do you want it when I do or should I sell it on Ebay?  :roflsmiley:

I have an old Pioneer 8 track still in the car.  ( I think you have one of those too.)  Old Deitz fog lights, 70's bumper trailer hitch.

What about a CB radio with the big whip antenna that has a raccoon tail hanging off of it?  What about big fat tires in the rear with shackles?  Cragar S/S or Keystone Klassics? (KKs are my choice!)  Driving lights/fog lights?  Mud flaps with Yosimite Sam saying "Back Off"?  Accel Super Coil and Mr. Gasket chrome air cleaner under the hood?  Fire extinguisher mounted on the tranny hump in front of the console.  (I got one of those too from the 70's!  ;) )

I know, I'm pathetic...  :bricks1:

An interesting idea that I saw on a rat rod of sorts was to use the pedal assembly from a base drum set up.  Pretty cool if you're into music!  It could work..... plus you have a nice place to put your heel so you don't wear out those plastic floor mats (you need some of dem too!)

I thought you had one of these or were they just for parts or something?  :clueless:
