It's official I paid for the car this morning and got the paperwork for the car. I will pick it up first thing tomorrow morning. Worse case I know some people at a bodyshop with a frame rack who can straighten the frame, but I think that I can fix it myself. Heck I have 4 other cars at the house I can use as reference for measurements.

I paid $2500.00 for it. Now let the record show if it was not a factory 4 speed car and not a high impact color (or red) I would not have bought it. But I have seen cars in worse shape then this one that have about the same desirability sell for more in recent months.

PICTURES!!! Also the guy said that the people he got the car from are the original owners and that he will see if he can locate the original engine and transmission to the car for me (How awesome is that)!! He also said that he knows of a few more classic mopars that he is trying to obtain, and he said that he would give me first crack and buying them. And he said that he is going to get a green hemi superbird and move it to the owners new place. He said that these are the original owners and he has known them since before they bought the car new in Santa Rosa and remembers when they bought the car. He said they don't drive it and it is all original unrestored. I would love to get my hands on that but I don't think that is going to happen, it does not sound like they want to sell it. But anyways here are pictures.

Curious,

How much do you think ($$) it will take to get back to decent driver condition?

Well I plan on conducting a full resotration to showroom condition, and I will be doing all of the work myself, and I figure I will dump close to 20k in it, maybe more maybe less. Since this car is a long term project I can look for deals on parts and save there.

Congrats on the purchase. They're aren't many good deals out there nowadays. You can definitely save that one.
I showed the pics to my wife and she isn't near as upset with me for spending the $1000 for the 70 Barracuda last week. Women just don't understand.

You got a 70 barracuda for 1000 bucks. I paid 9k for mine last summer. What kind of shape is it in? My 70 is has minimal rust and bodywork and was a complete car.

The car is going to have to stay on the back burner until I get the duster and cuda done. But I am going to sand it and put it in purple tinted primer right away, so that A it looks better, and B to protect it. I opened the trunk and to my surprise it just has surface rust and isn't even pitted. So I won't have to replace the trunk floor which is one less thing to do, but I know it is a small part compared to straightening the frame. My dad looked at it this evening when he got home, and he thinks it will be pretty easy to fix. We'll see. I'll keep everyone updated.
