« on: March 02, 2007 - 08:41:46 PM »
It's out of a 70 Cuda   Will it fit the 70 Challenger?  :clueless:

Thanks

Well plumbcrazy, I don't know if it will fit but if it doesn't it is still a better starting point than not having one at all.

I have a 1970-1971 dealer parts catalog and the part numbers are different, infact none of the parts listed under headliners have identical part numbers between the Challenger and Barracuda.

Only the Gran Coupe, which was the Challenger SE's twin.

I found an overhead console from a junkyard in Mt. Clemens about 20 years ago, went right up to the Dodge dealer and ordered the replacent parts for it.

Even though my R/T is not an SE, I fabbed up a front bracket and mounted it anyway.  I think that they are really cool addition.

You could get the overhead console on a 'Cuda.  My Cuda has an overhead console and the original leather seats.

Yea, it does, but the headliner itself needs replacing.  I have yet to take the cardboard out, but it looks to be in good shape.

Better to ask twice than nonce

I've been looking into this "Stratacore Vinyl Cardboard" some more and it's actually spelled "Stratocore".  From this particular site it seems to be the perfect replacement for our original lifespan-limited cardboard pieces except for two things. My main piece measures app. 50" x 54" and no mention is made as far as the ability to glue fabric to it. Looks promising though

Saw this on Moparts:

Finally ready to offer for sale headliners for 1970 Challenger SE models. These headliner are cast in fiberglass which is more durable than the origionals. Each headliner comes ready to install with all holes and console openings. These headliners are accurate and are made using an origional OEM headliner as a mold. May work with Grand Coupe's as well although I do not have a roof to test fit in.
Also comes with sail panels.
Price $ 400.00 plus shipping (which has run $35-$98)
Does not include the fabric liner which must be glued to the backing.(working on that pricing)
E-mail me for photo's
Thanks, rtseucode@yahoo.com

Barracuda and Challenger headliners are different and will not interchange,  a Barracuda with leather interior also received the overhead console.
