Anyone know the proper color and a source for the paint to redo the mirror bracket?

How pitted is it?  Jules will probably do it for you.

I've got to take some other things to a chrome shop anyways. Is this something they can do?

Is the SE mirror really different than other '70 Challenger mirrors? I'd never heard that before.

Anyone have a pic of what it should look like?

Maybe regular chrome would look cool...is it pot-metal?

Looking over these post to determine how I should do my rearview mirror also.  I have a 70 SE.  My base is not like the plum crazy pic.  The post is like it but not the base. It was painted flat black and I have managed to get the paint off and am in the process of polishing it. Not completely yet but I will post a pic of my base.  It will polish up nicely.... Forgive the color problem as I am having a flash problem....AND since we are on the subject of the mirror, I have polished the overhead console metal and it had a silver paint in the body which came off and reveiled a mirror surface.  What color should this be also.  I am thinking it is probably same as the mirror base and post.   :dunno:

That is a 1971 mirror assembly.

Thanks FY1 RT SE.  After the pic above I doubted the mirror was a 70.  Guess I can paint or polish as I desire.  How about the overhead console color??            By the way, didn't mean to hijack the post!!!!!!!!!!11

No worries...Can anyone verify that the '70 SE mirror was unique? If so, how?
