    We'll I saw a thread about relocating the front bumper on a later year 'cuda by re-drilling the mounting holes for the bumper brackets. I followed the procedure properly. It just doesn't seem to work on a 73 'cuda. The  outside bumper brackets hit the inner fender if I slide them in until the bumper would be where I want it. And it would not line up with the mounting holes. This is as far in as it would go. Now I'm on the lookout for 70-72 brackets because I hate the filler.  :dupe:  Anyone got suggestions? :clueless:

    That's about as far as mine went in also but I was happy with it. Huge difference to me.

    Oh yeh, almost forgot. Since it is now a 5 mph bumper anyway, I just used the top bolts thru the bumper and modified the top hole a bit and slid it a little closer. :2thumbs:

    Thanks....thats funny.That was my next choice.Just don't use the outer braces and slide them in just a little bit more and It'll probably be better thanks for the tips.

    That is a '73?  Do you have pics of the front brackets?  Mine is a '72 that had a '70 or '71 bumper on it when I got it; I now have what I think is a '72 bumper but the the mounting holes in the new one are in different locations (front & top, vs front only) so it won't fit the existing brackets  :banghead:  I am trying to figure out what the heck I really have now  :clueless:  Also, on the old bumper the guards are close in to the license plate opening and on the new one they are further outboard.  I also wonder if the new one is not for a Challenger instead of a 'Cuda :dunno:

    Here are a few pics of the "new" and old bumpers side by side.  The old one I am sure is a '70 or '71 which not correct for my car.  But the new one I am not exactly sure of what it fits, 'Cuda or Challenger, and what year(s).   :clueless:

    I'd prefer to run the 70 style bumpers...less holes.  Mayby someday.    What exactly do you have for brackets?  What is your goal...original?   Alot of people with 73-4 cuda's use 70-2 bumper stuff to get a better look.Smaller "bumperettes...or bumper guards". I only run those in the back to fill the holes in the valance though.  I am running 72 rear brackets and bumperguards.With a 73' bumper. I took the filler strip out.And drilled holes for the guards. ::)   Take more pics of what you got...   I'll look to see what I got,and take some pics. Mayby one of the CC.c gods will create an archive post to explain this in great detail with pics n stuff.
