Roadrunner tire question
« on: March 08, 2007 - 09:13:02 PM »
My friend just picked up a 69 Roadrunner that's been sitting on a backyard for way too long.  He's going to make it a street/strip car, but he doesn't want to relocate the springs or mini tub it, so basically no cutting etc.
He put me in charge of finding the right rim offset and tire size, for that stuffed, mean and nasty look!
The rims will be 15 in diameter (old school ), as of right now it has some L60x15's on the back and it looks like it could hold a bit more.
 Anyone have any info?

I tried to register at Moparts because of all the Roadrunner members there, but for some reason it wouldn't let me register and kept saying all the fields weren't marked when they were.  :pullinghair:

I have 275X60X15's on the rear of my '68 RR. They have a lot of room for even bigger ones.

I'm going over there hopefully this weekend, so I'll just pull one of my rims off the Challenger to get an idea.
It's going to have a 4 speed and 4.30 gears so the more rubber the better. They'll be soft compound because most of his time will be at the track. it would be nice to have a bigger diameter than the 295's though to really fill the wheelwells from the side for that old school drag car look.

Yea the 275's are basically L60's and that's exactly what I saw when I looked under it.
